T-Fal FR800 Review – My Take on the T-Fal Deep Fryer
All of the components on the unit are high quality. The downsides of this unit are few, but the price can be a bit of a turnoff. In addition, though the unit is very sturdy in build, it does not have parts which can be ordered or repaired (easily) so if something breaks and the warranty period is up, you will likely need to just buy a new unit.
In the following T-Fal fryer review, I’ll break down the core features of the FR800 series.
Hardware: The Foundation of a Good Fryer
The unit is very sturdy and primarily consists of a brushed steel case, a stainless steel basket and oil pan, and black plastic accessory parts. The top of the unit has a lid which closes and locks in place that has a ventilation area to help prevent odors and oil from leaking out of the unit. It also has a black plastic handle for moving the unit and a viewing window. The unit is powered via a removable power cord which plugs into the back.
The case of the unit is sleek and simple. It is very easy to use. The controls are located on a black plastic control unit on the back of the top of the unit and the front of the unit features oil filtration settings. The upper controls are somewhat difficult to use at times and you might get frustrated reaching across the unit, but it is not too big a design flaw to complain about.

In-Use: FR800 Review in Action
The unit comes put together, for the most part, right out of the box. Once you get it set up completely you only need to add oil to get started. The entire process is somehow more simple than it would be with most units of this type.
is the ability to automatically filter the oil between uses.
Since the unit measures the temperature of the oil constantly to make sure it remains where it needs to be, you don’t have to worry about soggy or uncooked items coming out of the fryer after cooking.
When it comes time to take the unit apart and clean all the parts, you will find that it is very easy going. Through a filtration system that is already on the unit, half of the problems with getting out the oil are solved immediately. The oil saving box, the lid, the main oil holder, and the basket can all be cleaned in a dishwasher. The control unit and other parts can be cleaned very easily and cause no trouble, though they are not dishwasher safe.
Pros
Parts are dishwasher safe.
Plenty of handles for moving and storage.
1-year limited warranty.
Large capacity and multi-positional basket.
Among the more reliable fryers I’ve tested.
Cons
Not easy to repair or replace broken parts, should they occur.
A bit pricy when compared to other competitors.
Conclusion: Is the T-Fal FR800 A Worthwhile Investment?
This is a great unit. One of the best, as far as home fryers go. If you are on the market and you have the money, it is well worth the price. Everything on the unit functions as it is meant to. It is a bit larger and has a larger capacity than many of the other good units, putting it a bit above the rest in terms of utility.
